Hikes Near Santee

Santee offers so many amazing hikes, we might as well make a list! Here are our top Santee hikes:

Cowles Mountain Trail

Make sure you do your research before heading here because you can access this via trails like Big Rock, Mesa, Barker Way, and the service road. You can expect to hike anywhere from 24 to 48 miles, depending on where you start. Prepare yourself accordingly.

Fortuna Mountain Trail

There are several access points for North San Diego Fortuna Mountain Trail. It can be accessed via Grasslands and Oak Canyon at 543 miles, or from Oak Canyon, Fortuna Saddle, or North Fortuna Trails at 533 miles.

You might be interested in the 1049-mile loop trail of the North and South Fortuna and Kwaay Paay Peak Trail.

Kwaay Paay

The Kwaay Paay trail is a mostly steep 24-mile hike that provides some of the best views of San Diego. It is a great sunset hike, but you need to make sure you are down before the light goes out, as the path down is rocky and you should plan for better visibility conditions.
